For the Meatballs
  • 1 lb Ground Beef or ground turkey for a leaner option
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs substitute with gluten-free breadcrumbs
  • 1 Onion finely chopped red or yellow
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 Egg can be replaced with a flax egg for vegan alternative
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika can substitute with regular paprika
  • 2 tbsp Parsley chopped, can be omitted
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup Peach Preserves can use other fruit preserves like apricot
  • 1/2 cup Whiskey substitute with apple juice for non-alcoholic version
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup consider sugar-free version
  • 2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar can omit if necessary
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce alternative: soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Mustard Powder can substitute with prepared mustard

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and chopped parsley.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 20 minutes until browned and fully cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  5. In a saucepan, combine peach preserves, whiskey, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat until heated through.
  6. Once the meatballs are cooked, toss them gently in the whiskey peach BBQ sauce to coat.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
