Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish, crimping the edges.
- Spread pecan halves on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt dark chocolate chips in 30-second intervals until smooth.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Fold in melted chocolate.
- Brush the bottom of the pie crust with egg white, add half of the toasted pecans, pour in the filling, and top with remaining pecans.
- Bake on a baking sheet for 50-60 minutes until edges are set and center jiggles slightly.
- Cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
