  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning Consider making your own for a personalized touch.
  • 1 cup Refried Beans Black or pinto beans are good substitutes.
For the Toppings
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese A mix of cheddar and Mexican cheese works beautifully.
  • 1 cup Tomatoes Consider using cherry tomatoes for a colorful pop.
  • 0.5 cup Black Olives Omit if you're not a fan, or substitute with jalapeños.
  • 0.5 cup Green Onions Diced red onion can be used as a substitute for sharper flavor.

Equipment

  • skillet
  • jelly roll pan
  • microwave

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for about 7-10 minutes, breaking it into small pieces. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add taco seasoning and a splash of water to the beef. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the liquid evaporates.
  4. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a jelly roll pan, pressing it to form a rectangle with edges.
  5. Bake the crust for 11-13 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Microwave the refried beans for 1 minute to soften, then spread them over the baked crust.
  7. Layer the seasoned beef over the refried beans, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  8. Top with diced tomatoes, olives, and green onions, then return to the oven for another 3-6 minutes until cheese is melted.
  9. Cool for a few minutes, then slice into squares and serve.
