Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Marinate Tofu: In a medium bowl, combine tamari, maple syrup, and liquid smoke with spices. Slice tofu and toss in the marinade. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes or refrigerate overnight.
  2. Cook Tofu: Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium-low heat. Add oil, place tofu strips in a single layer, and cook for 4-5 minutes. Flip and cook another 3-4 minutes until charred.
  3. Prepare Avocado Spread: Mash avocado, then mix with lime zest, lime juice, and dill. Season with salt.
  4. Assemble Sandwich: Cut ciabatta rolls, spread avocado on both sides, layer with tomato slices, smoky tofu, and lettuce, and top with the other half.
