  • 200 g Scallops Fresh preferred; if frozen, ensure completely thawed and patted dry.
For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Can substitute with olive oil for a lighter option.
  • 200 ml Heavy cream For a lighter version, half-and-half can be used.
  • 50 ml White grape juice White wine can be used as an alternative.
Aromatics & Spices
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped Yellow or white; shallots can be used for a milder flavor.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Fresh garlic is best; garlic powder may be substituted.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt To taste.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper Adjust to preference.
For the Topping
  • 50 g Grated cheese Choose a favorite like Gruyère or cheddar.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Thaw shrimp and scallops, rinse under cold water, and pat dry. Set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion for 3-4 minutes until translucent, then add garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Add prepared seafood and cook for about 3 minutes until shrimp turns pink and scallops are opaque.
  4. Pour in white grape juice and simmer for 2 minutes. Stir in heavy cream, salt, and black pepper; mix well.
  5. Transfer seafood mixture to a baking dish, sprinkle grated cheese on top.
  6. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for approximately 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
