- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while you prepare your pie dish. Grease a standard 9-inch pie dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 4 eggs and 1 cup of milk until smooth. Add in ½ cup of melted butter, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, salt and pepper. Stir until just combined.
- Fold in 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese and any desired optional fillings. Pour the mixture into the prepared pie dish.
- Bake for 35–45 minutes until the top is golden brown and set in the center. Test with a knife; it should come out clean.
- Allow the pie to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving warm or at room temperature.
