  • 4 cloves garlic Freshly minced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Use for garlic butter
  • 2 tablespoons parsley Chopped fresh, optional
For Cooking
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can substitute with canola oil
  • 1/4 cup white wine or chicken broth For cooking
For Flavoring
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice Freshly squeezed, not bottled
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes Adjust to taste
For the Garlic Bread
  • 1 loaf crusty bread French or Italian bread preferred

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the crusty loaf of bread thickly, spread garlic butter over cut sides, and bake for 8-10 minutes until golden.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat, add minced garlic, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of butter and white wine or chicken broth, simmer for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  5. Stir in lemon juice and red pepper flakes, return shrimp to the skillet, combine well and cook for an additional minute.
  6. Divide shrimp and sauce into bowls, serve with warm garlic bread for dipping.
