  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch for marinating and thickening
Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Oyster Sauce key for authentic flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Dark Soy Sauce optional but recommended
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar balances saltiness
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth adds moisture
Stir-Fry
  • 4 cups Broccoli substitute with bell peppers if desired
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger minced
  • 2 tablespoons Toasted Sesame Oil or canola oil

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice flank steak into thin strips, combine with marinade ingredients, and let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Whisk together sauce ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. Blanch broccoli in boiling salted water for 1-2 minutes, then transfer to ice water to stop cooking.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in the wok, add marinated beef strips in a single layer, sear for 30 seconds per side, then set aside.
  2. Sauté garlic and ginger in the wok until fragrant, then add blanched broccoli, warming it through.
  3. Add beef and sauce to the wok, stirring until well combined and sauce thickens for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Drizzle with toasted sesame oil, toss gently, and serve hot with sliced green onions and steamed rice.
