Cooking Steps
- In a large pot, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat until shimmering. Add 1 diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
- Introduce 12 ounces of sliced smoked sausage to the pot. Brown for 5-6 minutes until golden.
- Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, along with salt and pepper to taste. Stir for 1 minute.
- Pour in 3 cups of chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add in 12 ounces of pasta. Cook uncovered for 8-10 minutes.
- Lower heat, stir in 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 cup of honey BBQ sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Gradually sprinkle in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until melted.
- Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm.
