  • 1 cup Elbow Macaroni Other pasta types like shells or penne can be used
  • 2 cups Tomato Sauce Homemade or low-sodium versions work
  • 1 cup Beef Broth/Water Use vegetable broth for vegetarian option
  • 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning Can replace with oregano and basil
  • 1 cup Cheese (Shredded) Mozzarella, cheddar, or Italian blends preferred
  • 2 tbsp Parsley/Basil (for garnish) Optional but recommended
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan (optional) Use vegan parmesan for dairy-free option

Equipment

  • large pot

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by heating a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground beef along with diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and the onions become translucent.
  2. Next, pour in the rich tomato sauce and beef broth, stirring well to combine all ingredients. Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning, ensuring even distribution of flavor. Bring this mixture to a gentle simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Once the sauce is simmering, stir in the elbow macaroni, ensuring it's fully submerged in the liquid. Increase the heat slightly to bring the mixture to a boil, and then reduce back to low heat. Cover and let it simmer for approximately 15 minutes.
  4. After the pasta reaches perfect tenderness, remove the lid and give the dish a gentle stir. Add the shredded cheese and stir continuously until it melts completely.
  5. Serve the One Pot Beefaroni in bowls, garnished with freshly chopped parsley or basil, and optionally sprinkle some grated parmesan on top.
