Step-by-Step Instructions for Mushroom Crostini
  1. Prep the Ingredients: Thinly slice the onion and chop shiitake and brown mushrooms. Mince garlic if using. Gather remaining ingredients.
  2. Cook the Onions and Mushrooms: Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook for 5 minutes until tender. Add mushrooms and garlic; cook for another 5 minutes.
  3. Add the Flavors: Remove skillet from heat, add Marsala wine and thyme, stir well. Return to medium heat for 5-7 minutes until jam-like consistency.
  4. Prepare the Baguette: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice baguette and brush with melted butter. Toast for 5-7 minutes until golden.
  5. Assemble the Crostini: Spoon mushroom mixture onto toasted baguette slices. Garnish with fresh thyme and serve!
