- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and prepare a 9x9-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
- Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat for about 8-10 minutes until nicely browned. Drain excess fat and set aside to cool.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and baking powder. Gradually stir in buttermilk until a sticky dough forms, then gently fold in the cooked sausage and cheddar cheese.
- Pour melted butter into the prepared baking dish, spread biscuit dough over the butter, and cut into 9 equal squares.
- Bake in your preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, rotating halfway through. Remove when golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
