Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Cook pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté diced onion and minced garlic for about 5 minutes until translucent.
  3. Increase heat to medium-high. Add ground beef, breaking it apart. Cook until browned, about 7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Lower heat to medium. Stir in heavy cream, then gradually add reserved pasta water until the desired consistency. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted.
  5. Toss the cooked penne pasta with the sauce until well-coated.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with extra Parmesan or parsley if desired.
