Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a stand mixer, pour in 1 cup of warm water and sprinkle 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast over the surface. Allow to sit undisturbed for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- Once frothy, add 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 3 cups of bread flour. Knead on low to medium speed for 10 minutes.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, divide into four pieces, and shape each into a log about 8 inches long.
- Place the logs on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover with a towel, and let rise for about 40 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) as the dough rises.
- Once risen, make shallow diagonal cuts across the tops, brush with 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
- Top with shredded Monterey Jack and Parmesan cheese, then bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool on a wire rack before slicing.
