- Gather all ingredients and rinse the basil leaves. Pat dry. Peel and chop the garlic. Toast pine nuts in a pan for 3-5 minutes.
- In a food processor, combine toasted pine nuts, garlic, and basil leaves. Pulse until coarsely chopped.
- Add Parmesan cheese and pulse again. With processor running, drizzle in olive oil until emulsified.
- Season with salt and pepper, and pulsing to combine. Adjust flavors as needed.
- Transfer to an airtight container. Drizzle olive oil on top if not using immediately.
