Step-by-Step Instructions for Golumpki Soup
- In a large soup pot, heat over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until it’s browned and fully cooked through.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce, followed by salt, pepper, paprika, and sugar. Allow to simmer for 3-4 minutes.
- Pour in the beef broth and add the bay leaf. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce to a simmer.
- Stir in the chopped green cabbage and cover the pot. Simmer for 25-30 minutes.
- Add in the cooked white rice. Simmer uncovered for an additional 5-10 minutes to thicken.
- Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed, removing the bay leaf before serving.
- Ladle into bowls and garnish with fresh parsley.
