Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Blend almond paste, softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and half of a beaten egg in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Spread the almond filling evenly down the center third of the puff pastry. Make diagonal cuts on both sides.
  4. Fold the outer sections of pastries over the filling in a crisscross manner.
  5. Brush the top with the remaining beaten egg and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
