Preparation
- Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, pickle relish, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and hot sauce in a medium bowl. Cover and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
- Wash and dry lettuce, slice tomatoes, and cut pickles. Butter each half of burger buns.
- Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and toast buns, butter-side down, for 2-3 minutes until golden.
- Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions, roll into balls. Do not overhandle.
- Increase skillet heat until smoking, place beef balls and smash each to 1/4 inch thick. Cook for 2-3 minutes, flip, add cheese, and cook for another minute.
- Spread secret sauce on bottom half of buns, layer with cheesy patty, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Top with bun halves.
- Serve hot with favorite sides and enjoy!
