Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat together softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and egg yolk until smooth.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to 1/8 inch thick and cut into 8 squares.
  4. Score a half-inch border around each pastry square and prick the center multiple times.
  5. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture into each pastry square and add 1 teaspoon of fruit jam.
  6. Brush beaten egg over the edges and optionally sprinkle with coarse sugar.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then glaze with a mixture of powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
