- In a shallow bowl, combine sugar and ground cinnamon to prepare the cinnamon sugar rim.
- Moisten the rim of each glass with lime wedges and dip into the sugar mixture. Set aside.
- In a cocktail shaker, mix together apple cider, tequila, apple butter, agave syrup (if using), and Cointreau.
- Fill shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until frosted.
- Strain the cocktail mixture into the prepared rimmed glasses filled with fresh ice.
