Cinnamon Sugar Rim
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
Cocktail
  • 2 pieces Lime Wedges for moistening the glass rim
  • ¾ cup Apple Cider fresh cider is recommended
  • 3 ounces Tequila quality blanco tequila
  • 2 tablespoons Apple Butter or spiced simple syrup as a substitute
  • 1 tablespoon Agave Syrup optional, adjust sweetness
  • 1 ounce Cointreau or triple sec as a substitute
  • 1-2 cups Ice fresh ice for shaking
Garnishing
  • 2 pieces Cinnamon Sticks for flavor and presentation
  • a few Apple Slices for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a shallow bowl, combine sugar and ground cinnamon to prepare the cinnamon sugar rim.
  2. Moisten the rim of each glass with lime wedges and dip into the sugar mixture. Set aside.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, mix together apple cider, tequila, apple butter, agave syrup (if using), and Cointreau.
  4. Fill shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until frosted.
  5. Strain the cocktail mixture into the prepared rimmed glasses filled with fresh ice.
  6. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and apple slices. Serve immediately.
