Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 1 pound extra-lean ground beef or ground turkey for a lighter option
  • 1 packet taco seasoning homemade blend recommended for control over spices
  • 4 large flour tortillas or corn tortillas for a gluten-free version
  • 1 cup nacho cheese sauce or shredded cheese for a lower-calorie alternative
  • 4 pieces tostadas or unsalted tortilla chips as a substitute
For the Toppings
  • 1 cup sour cream or low-fat/Greek yogurt for a healthier choice
  • 1 cup iceberg lettuce or shredded romaine for a bolder flavor
  • 1 medium plum tomato or diced bell peppers/avocado for a twist
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese or pepper jack for added kick
Cooking Essentials
  • 1 spray cooking spray or a light drizzle of olive oil

Equipment

  • skillet
  • knife
  • cutting board

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium skillet, cook the extra-lean ground beef with taco seasoning over medium-high heat for 7-8 minutes until browned and crumbly.
  2. Stack four flour tortillas and cut around a tostada to create smaller circles for layering.
  3. Assemble on a large tortilla: add seasoned beef, nacho cheese sauce, a tostada, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese. Top with a smaller tortilla.
  4. Fold the edges of the large tortilla over the filling to form a hexagon, sealing the toppings inside.
  5. Cook the folded Crunchwrap in a lightly greased skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
  6. Remove from skillet, cool slightly, then cut in half for serving. Enjoy with salsa, guacamole, or your favorite dipping sauce.
