Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out cold puff pastry to a thickness of about 1/4 inch and cut into squares.
  2. Place your preferred filling in the center of each pastry square and fold corners toward the center, pinching to seal.
  3. Roll the filled pastry squares into tight cylinders, bend into a U-shape, and place snugly in a greased muffin tin.
  4. Heat enough neutral oil in a frying pan to reach 2 inches deep and heat to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Carefully lower the cruffins into the hot oil and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Remove from oil, drain excess oil, and toss in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon while still hot.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream, chocolate, or caramel sauce.
