- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out cold puff pastry to a thickness of about 1/4 inch and cut into squares.
- Place your preferred filling in the center of each pastry square and fold corners toward the center, pinching to seal.
- Roll the filled pastry squares into tight cylinders, bend into a U-shape, and place snugly in a greased muffin tin.
- Heat enough neutral oil in a frying pan to reach 2 inches deep and heat to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully lower the cruffins into the hot oil and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove from oil, drain excess oil, and toss in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon while still hot.
- Serve warm, optionally with ice cream, chocolate, or caramel sauce.
