Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  3. Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet and lightly brush each slice with extra virgin olive oil.
  4. Toast the bread in the preheated oven for 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, and remaining olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Spoon the tomato mixture onto each toasted slice once the bread is done.
