Step-by-Step Instructions

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, 1 egg, melted butter, 1 cup pumpkin puree, and 1 tsp vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and press into the baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add eggs, vanilla, remaining pumpkin puree, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Mix until creamy, then fold in powdered sugar until smooth.
  4. Pour the filling over the cake base and bake for 40-45 minutes. The edges should be set; the center should remain soft.

  6. Prepare the frosting by beating together remaining cream cheese, softened butter, and brown sugar until fluffy. Gradually mix in powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
