  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs For crispy coating.

  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper Adjust according to taste.
For the Sautéing and Grilling
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Can substitute with butter.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Unsalted preferred.
For the Assembly
  • 4 slices Sourdough Bread Sturdy base for the sandwich.
  • 2 cups Romaine Lettuce Can use iceberg lettuce.
  • 1/2 cup Caesar Dressing Homemade or store-bought, creamy.
  • 1/2 cup Cherry Tomatoes Optional garnish.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine panko breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese in a shallow dish.
  3. Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper.
  4. Coat each chicken breast in the panko and Parmesan mixture.
  5. Brown the chicken in a skillet with olive oil over medium-high heat for 3 minutes on each side.
  6. Transfer the chicken to a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  7. Butter one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  8. Grill the sourdough in a skillet until golden and crispy on both sides.
  9. Slice the baked chicken into strips.
  10. Toss the romaine lettuce with Caesar dressing in a bowl.
  11. Assemble the sandwich with dressed romaine, sliced chicken, and cherry tomatoes on sourdough.
  12. Slice the sandwich in half and serve warm.
