  • 2 pounds Beef Tips (Sirloin or Chuck Roast)
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce Use your favorite bottled option.
  • 1 cup Beef Broth Opt for low-sodium if preferred.
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar Can substitute with honey or maple syrup.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar White vinegar can be used.
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon Mustard Yellow mustard can also be used.
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Can substitute with sweet paprika.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can also be used.
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder Fresh onion can be used.
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste.
For Thickening (Optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch Mix with water to thicken.
  • 1/4 cup Water

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by patting the beef tips dry with paper towels and season them with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, and smoked paprika.
  3. Place the seasoned beef tips in the bottom of your crockpot and pour the sauce mixture evenly over the beef.
  4. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours.
  5. If a thicker sauce is preferred, mix cornstarch with water and stir it into the crockpot 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Once done, shred the beef with two forks and serve over mashed potatoes or on sandwich buns.
