  • 1 inch Vegetable Oil for frying; baking is a healthier option
For the Toppings
  • 1 cup Lettuce iceberg or romaine recommended
  • 1 cup Tomatoes diced; cherry or grape tomatoes add pop
  • 1 cup Cheese shredded; cheddar or a Mexican blend
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream Greek yogurt can replace for lighter option
  • 1/2 cup Salsa homemade salsa adds extra kick
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro substitute green onions if desired

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 pound of ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned, then drain excess fat.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and add 1 chopped onion. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until softened. Stir in 3 minced garlic cloves and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Sprinkle in the taco seasoning mix and pour in ½ cup of water. Stir and simmer for 5-7 minutes until well-coated with spices.
  4. Heat corn tortillas slightly in the microwave for 15-20 seconds or in a dry skillet for a few seconds to make them pliable.
  5. In a frying pan, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat until hot. Fry each tortilla for 15-20 seconds on each side until golden brown.
  6. Assemble tacos by filling crispy shells with the beef mixture and adding toppings of choice.
  7. Serve immediately while warm and crunchy for the best experience.
