  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Substitute with half-and-half for a lighter version
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Unsalted preferred
  • 1 medium Onion Finely chopped, shallots can substitute
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced, fresh is optimal
  • 4 cups Stock Seafood or chicken
For the Seasoning
  • to taste Seasonings Salt, pepper, Old Bay
  • to taste Fresh Herbs Parsley, thyme

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large pot, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Once bubbling, add 1 finely chopped onion and 2 minced garlic cloves. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until onion is translucent.
  2. Pour in 4 cups of seafood or chicken stock, stir to combine, and bring to a gentle simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Gently fold in 1 cup of crab meat and 1 pound of deveined shrimp. Cook for 3-5 minutes until shrimp turn pink.
  4. Reduce heat to low, stir in 1 cup of heavy cream, and let it simmer for another 3-5 minutes.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and Old Bay, simmer for another 2 minutes.
  6. Ladle into warm bowls, garnish with parsley and thyme, and serve with a warm baguette or salad.
