  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper and non-stick spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, and espresso powder.
  3. In a saucepan, combine the butter and oil with 1/3 cup of sugar over medium heat until smooth and melted.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolk, and remaining sugar until combined and slightly thickened.
