Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour, cornstarch, granulated sugar, and milk. Stir until smooth.
  2. Pour the mochi batter into a heatproof dish lined with parchment paper. Steam over simmering water for 20 minutes.
  3. While warm, knead in oil or melted butter and dragon fruit juice until well mixed.
  4. Dust hands with cornstarch or coconut flakes. Pinch off dough, place banana in center, and seal to form dumplings.
  5. Roll mochi dumplings in coconut flakes, coating them well.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve on a decorative platter.
